Detalles de la observación
Immature light morph (maybe 1 yr old as per moulting tail and wings?), flying low overhead. Long slender slightly dihedral wings with dark grey flight feathers, pale underside with concentrated brown streaking around upper chest. In the split second before lifting my bins I pondered Northern Harrier then Golden Eagle, both of which did not seem like a great match. Mind officially blown when it registered that I was looking at a Swainson’s Hawk, my second one ever, flying right over my yard. I had been outside for about one minute at this point. It would be caught up with a few minutes later by Kate Derbyshire by my instruction - also perfectly timed - as it flew over the 7-11 store on Erie St.
