Detalles de la observación
Found by NJD during shrike trapping effort on Ridge Road. Small bluebird sized passerine, brown above, buff below, weak mask through the eye offset by white supercilium. Noticeably long-legged with upright posture, occasionally pumping tail and running around in the road foraging. Wings noticeably long, tail relatively short but strikingly patterned. The rump and base of the tail feathers were white, the proximal tips black, with the central tail feathers having a bit more black, creating a black, inverted "T" pattern on white. First island record, third for LA county, and 15th CA state record. This bird had obvious differences in plumage compared to the recent bird in Humboldt County. Additional details and photos were submitted to the CBRC and the record was accepted (CBRC 2020-117).
