1st Cycle Juv Laughing gull. Bill was all black - black legs, white eye arcs, and an overall warm grey almost salmon stain to it. All several hundred gulls lifted at the same time but I was able to keep on the bird in the air until Dr Rick Thomas pulled up behind me. In flight interestingly it had a very white rump, while the rest of the bird was dark. Reminded me of a Harrier. Pics. It flew towards Erie Basin. Most of the other gulls landed but we couldn’t relocate it.
