Detalles de la observación
These 'chip' calls recorded at 6.33 am are very unusual, and are made up of 4 or 5 different sounds, none of them the usual 'chink' sound we are familiar with. The calls ended with a very brief, low and half-hearted song, reminiscent of the quiet, secretive song of a Catbird, but these seem not to have been caught in the recording. The final, exceedingly high-pitched squeeks are in the 9-10kHz range, the same range as the Grassquit, whose call can be heard once in the background at 53 seconds. The other background calls are a Yucatan Vireo and Caribbean Elaenia, while a Greater Antillean Grackle gets in the last word.
