Detalles de la observación
It was larger than the nearby House Finches. It appeared to be a male with cinnamon brown as the overall color. The plumage was stained with a rosy pink wash on its belly and shoulders. The dark gray cap was surrounded by a light gray patch that circled its head. The bill was yellowish. There was a faint eye ring. The wings were gray with black. Downy feathers covered the nostrils as well as the top of the black legs. It was feeding on seeds that it picked out of the pine cones. Photos
