The diminutive Australasian Grebe (Tachybaptus novaehollandiae) is usually found on freshwater wetlands in Australia, New Zealand and on nearby Pacific islands. This adult Australasian Grebe is arranging material on its nest that is anchored to a small Flooded Gum in the shallows of Herdsman Lake in Perth, Western Australia. Brown Honeyeaters can be heard calling in the background. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: October 7, 2018.
