A Black-fronted Piping-Guan descending from a tree to the river bed. The Urugua-í Provincial Park is one of the more reliable places to see the spectacular, turkey-sized Black-fronted Piping-guan. One or more birds gather in the river each morning, standing in the shallow flowing water to harvest algae attached to the rocks. This bird had been perching, hidden under the canopy of a small tree on the river bank. It emerged cautiously, and then dropped from the tree to the river bed and began eating algae from the rocks in the river. Elevation: 341 m. Date added to IBC: December 6, 2018.
