Buff-breasted Paradise Kingfisher - Mating. This video clip was shot shortly after the arrival of these birds on their breeding territory. Two weeks later, after full excavation of the termite mound, this pair mating again, multiple times a day, for at least three days. These later matings where longer (about 15-20 seconds). Perhaps this earily, short mating sequence was "pair bonding" after indepentant arrival of the two bird after migration. This is, of course, speculation on my part. Elevation: 12 m.
