Habitat: Marsh. Unidentified sound coming from a Scirpus giganteus rushbed, I started recording it because I suspected that this voice may belong to Coturnicops notatus if it is not a rare voice of an amphibian. Note that it has a pattern: accelerated short series of notes, 'firulete' and then a long monotonous part, after which the accelerated part starts again. Neither Diego Barraso nor Guillermo Natale could identify this as a frog with certainty. I tried some playback and it didn't seem to respond, I thought that the sound was a little closer but Raul Abalos and Facundo Disallo said the sound was not moving. The mystery lingers... [recorded at Poste 8 on the dirt road that enters to La Balandra].
