Detalles de la observación
If you look real close in the picture, just to the left of the small shrub in line with the larger red cedar in the background, and before the sand bluestem, there is a woodcock. The white spot on the head, the brown chest and darker wing pattern can be seen, or maybe that's a clump of leaves. Need a flashlight. Should have had my dog take the picture, she was ten (10) feet closer and about 10 feet to the right of it in the picture. Funny bird. Must have a sore neck at the end of the night because whenever it gives it's "pent" call it moves it's head from one side to the other. Must help to spread it's vocalization over a larger area, or maybe the doppler effect makes it sound louder.
