Detalles de la observación
Continuing bird first found by J. Zeno on 10/31/18. Bird was first spotted on the south side of pond 1, near the SE corner of pond. During the time we observed the bird, it was flycatching from the wires, as well as hawking from an old wooden dock/platform that extends into the Miller Creek channel south of the path, right near the fenced of area between ponds 1 and 2. The bird was loosely associating with one BLPH. Overall, a medium to large, trim, and fairly "long" in appearance kingbird. The bird had a pale gray head, with slight darker coloration extending through the eyeline. Long, dark bill. Belly and underparts bright lemony yellow, paler in coloration extending into chest, eventually leading up to white throat. Brown/greenish back, with brown wings and tail. No noticeable color difference between wings and tail. Tail deeply notched with what appeared to be a white outer vane to outer rectrix, but not nearly as prominent as WEKI. In flight, the short rounded wings were apparent. Cf. to WEKI, bird was larger with longer bill, yellow extending into chest, brown tail that was deeply notched and lacked prominent white outer rectrices. Cf. to COKI, bird had more contrasting edgings to wings, with rounded wings in flight. Longer and narrower bill, with a slightly more pale breast/belly. Additionally, TRKI is a regular fall vagrant on the West Coast, whereas COKI would be VERY rare. Bird did not vocalize in the time I observed it.
