Detalles de la observación
Pale brown above with lighter rump, darker wings and tail with shallow fork. Below none showed clear breast bands, instead very diffuse but complete and fairly even, and with paler throat. In flight details very difficult to ascertain and paler throat often not visible. When perched throat (and half-collar) was completely buffish-white contrasting clearly and fairly sharply demarcated from ear coverts. According to BSA, "NW races [of Pale] confusingly like Grey-throated, but throat whiter, upperparts, flight feathers and tail generally paler, with less contrast between pale brown rump and dark brown tail; lower border of breast-band more distinct and higher, with sides of breast darkest". These birds (at least the perched ones) had very white throats but a clearly contrasting pale rump. Other features were also confusing: the clear contrast between ear coverts and whitish throat is probably not right for Pale which should shade in more, but Grey-throated should not be so white at all. Calls included a soft trill, but also a more twanging 'chwip' (heard once in the attached recording): trill seems like Grey-throated to me and not like Xeno-canto recordings of Pale from central Asia, although indica voice apparently undocumented (BSA). Could have been both species present of course!
