On West Beach trail between west parking lot and halfway trail. Looked at this closely, as it seemed odd to be here! Appears to be Eastern though. Never vocalized. EDIT (23 March 2024): This was brought to my attention recently by a few people, that this individual fits Western Meadowlark. It did look odd for Eastern at the time, but being overly cautious true to my nature, I recorded it as Eastern. The overall sandy tone to the bird, more whitish flanks, and broad spacing between the barring on both tertials and rects indicate Western traits. I do wonder what age/gender this is as it does not quite appear to be full colour (paler and reduced black "V") and the yellow is not evident up to the malar region to my eyes. Likely a female? I will agree this is a Western.
