Beobachtungsdetails
One bird associating with a New Holland Honeyeater, below dam wall. Initially presumed to be a White-cheeked Honeyeater, closer review of photos shows features intermediate between NH and WC, pointing towards a hybrid. The habitat of eucalypt forest interspersed with dry vine forest, holds a population of NH, in SEQ WC is restricted to coastal banksia heathland, the nearest of which is at least 40 kms away. i. pale eye, not dark as WC or white as NH. ii. white throat whiskers, should be absent in WC. iii. irregular cheek patch shape, intermediate between both species - too large for NH, shape underneath doesn't fully fit WC.
