The first segment begins at 0545. The second segment begins at 0627 and ends at 0719. From about 7:41 to 10:27 into the second segment, one can hear very quiet (possibly distant) wing display. The bird had not vocalized for approximately one minute. The third segment begins at 0719 and ends at 0809. This recording is of a male Capercaillie that was displaying at a known historical site. The site was fairly open, rather than in the forest proper. The central display arena was situated beneath a small deciduous tree, the MS stereo pair, positioned in advance, at the base of this tree. The stereo pair was covered with fine mesh camouflage cloth and a cable was run back to a blind some meters away. Restricted access to location data at the request of RSPB's Abernethy Forest Reserve. Access provided for research purposes only. Other Behaviors: Lek, Perform Visual Display. Habitat: Forest, Evergreen Forest, Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest. Equipment Notes: Decoded MS Stereo.
