Ducks seemingly matching the mixed couple photographed by Luke Nieuwhof and Gail Pfoh, yesterday on the Blue and Purple Loop. The subject had field markings of an American Black Duck with a grayish throat, and body feathers that were darker overall than those of a Mallard or Mal-Mot, a dark eye-line, yellowish bill and a violet wing patch. While preening, white wing linings were visible. Photos taken.
