Seen at close range along the stream near the main entrance gate, photographed and observed for several minutes. Bird showed dark greenish‑grey back and wings, blackish crown and crest, uniformly dark grey neck without streaks, and short yellow legs. Lacked the streaked brown head/neck and contrasting white wings of Indian Pond Heron, and was much darker and smaller than other Ardeidae present.
