*High Count | Missed the county high by a couple hundred. Many, many large flocks actively migrating over my yard, passing over (sometimes kettling) and heading SE/SW. Vocal, but oftentimes difficult to hear due to wind and distance. Not an unusual count for ideal migration days, such as today, with a temp drop this week and strong NW winds. Possibly the best crane day we will get this season. Meticulously clicker counted after photographing each large flock to get a decent estimate. Will provide photos later to show true magnitude of the flocks. Decent amount of error due to not being able to photograph every flock, but the total definitely fits in the higher end of the 1000-1500 range.
