Waiting to get to water.
Beobachtungsdetails
Waxwings have been present off-and-on all day. High number was 10-14 earlier. They are anxious to get to water. Photo shows two of several that were on the ground near and under the bird bath. We think they were taking advantage of flying or spilled drops of water as they waited for a chance to reach the water itself. The robins were packed together on the rim of the birdbath, making it hard for waxwings to fit in.
