Large grebe with dark upper half of face which extended throughout the lores. Bright white throat and neck on the ventral surface which extended down to the water. Wide black band running down the dorsal side of the neck. Bill color was difficult to assess at the far distance. Observed behavior included wading with neck upright, resting with head positioned near the middle of its back, and occasional wagging of its foot. Nice find by Skye.
