Beobachtungsdetails
Minimum count. We saw at least 9 and the other portion of our party that was almost a mile away saw 2 or 3.This is what I observed from the one we shot unaware that it was a Sharpie: Chevrons on white chest feathers with distinct chuckling call of a Sharpie. Pointed tail with white borders and a sandy brown back with mottled black and white mixed in. Short, pointed crest and a yellow eye-comb. Smaller than GRSG and slightly larger than a DUGR, which we just instantly assumed they were due to location and backlit. Sadly, I was unable to attain photos of a living bird, so I will have to upload photos of the one that we shot. Other portion of party also harvested one. Habitat: Knee height grasses and other seeded plants along with sage brush; mixed with aspen stands and scattered conifers, also many thick shrubby patches and dead timber.
