Continuing bird. Small plover with thin, petite, black bill and grayish legs; shows the shoulder "spurs" of an incomplete breastband. Fast and active, more so than everyone else on the flat. Seemed to be loosely associating with the piping plovers; we walked a fairly long way and passed many dozens of other birds, but didn't see a single piping plover until we reached the area where the snowy was found.
