*Rare. Very likely the same bird I first found just across the street on May 10, 2025: https://ebird.org/checklist/S235864513 Seen at the corner of College Rd. and Strawberry Hill Rd. in Concord. The bird was closely associating with two American Robins. It came to the side of the road (Strawberry Hill Rd.) several times to forage. It’s at someone’s house and there’s essentially no parking, so please be very respectful. Also be very cautious--many people use Strawberry Hill as a shortcut around the rotary, and end up driving too fast on this road. It's a two-family home, we knocked on one of the doors to let them know and they were bird enthusiasts and glad to know about it. They said they saw one in their yard sometime last year, too. This is the second-latest record for EVGR in May in Middlesex county. The latest checklist is from May 28, 2002 in the town of Ashby: https://ebird.org/checklist/S4482275 As for June, there are around a dozen or so records of EVGR in Middlesex county. The large majority of these come from 1999 and 2007, which probably coincide with irruptions. One record stands out: a West Townsend checklist from June 2024 with a male and female together at a feeder. That list is here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S179810702 The species was only observed in one locale in the first MA Breeding Bird Atlas, "confirmed" breeding; but, by the second MA Breeding Bird Atlas, the species had expanded substantially in MA, including two observations in Middlesex county, both "probable" breeders.
