Dominant male and two females today. Dominant male still chasing other birds away ( a couple of Yellow-rumps today) when he is present. 1 of the females will actually chase the other female away, so behavior isn't limited to just the males. Dominant male appeared to posture a bit at one point with dominant female present, turns out there was a large insect quite close to both, and I think the male was claiming his prize. He did manage to snatch it, not really sure if the female was eyeing the same snack, but first time I saw any type of agression from a male towards a female. This seemed to be a one time deal because they foraged in the same area for a while after ( and previous two days)*Note* These are behaviors I have observed during migration, I imagine that a dominant pair will chase off other individuals from their territory during breeding*. Also, there was a DCNR worker mowing the grass nearby, which actually caused a lot of large flying insects to flush from the lawn area and into the grape vines. This made for quite an entertaining show watching the male fly out and catch them.
