Beobachtungsdetails
Seen with MOB in Coyote bushes and scotch broom to the west of the Burrowing Owl enclosure. Pretty skulky. First found this morning by Ellen Plane. Plain sparrow with a hint of an eyering. Bill was fairly thin (for a sparrow) and gray. Unmarked breast and belly with just the hint of some vertical streaking on the upper breast below the throat. Lower flanks appeared to be lightly washed olive with some faint streaks. Mostly unmarked gray face with some indistinct chestnut marking on the cheek. Whiter throat but I didn't note any mustache stripes. Darker crown with indistinct pale median stripe. Fine brown and gray streaking on the back of the face, continuing down the nape. Tail about 2/3 the length of the body and notched. Wing coverts black with narrow white fringes. Feathers on the back appeared to have chestnut centers with pale fringes. Very short primary extensions.
