Beobachtungsdetails
ISS run 3/3 for this location on final day of ISS window. Dropped off by Chris Depka and Tim Keyes. Arrived to a lot of shorebirds, the most I’d seen since May…..Once the FRGU disappeared I turned my attention back to counting godwits. This bird was quickly picked out among the hundred MAGO. Very bright, smaller/slimmer godwit. Noticeably shorter black legs. Bill identical to MAGO. I called this bird a HUGO. I alerted the others and they soon returned in the boat. Tim came ashore, and after failing to relocate the FRGU, settled on the godwit. He agreed at first but soon began to really mull over other options, which I chuckled over. But then he caught a flash of the barred tail. We began to suddenly lean BARG upon further examination - slowly creeping forward for a view and shot of the tail and/or underwing. Photos and videos were acquired and will be uploaded, and the bird was left at 11:40 AM last seen on Ogeechee Bar. Seen hopping and running, but never seen in flight. Pale underwing. Extremely pronounced white supercilium. Reminded me a lot of STSA.
