Beobachtungsdetails
Continuing. Reported earlier today by Alvaro J.. I first observed the bird as it was flying East (towards me as I was driving) along the powerlines that parallel the North side of the road. First impression checked all the boxes: Chunky robin-sized flycatcher, dark charcoal gray to black above, white below, white terminal band on dark tail. I hopped out of the car (after it stopped moving!) to see the bird land in a small eucalyptus and quickly fly up and catch something. It traveled a little more to the East and perched in some smaller cypress trees for photos and observations. In about 5-7 minutes, it flew Southwest crossing the road and into the fenced horse pasture where it was sitting on a low wire and a pole. Wind and heat shimmer were significant. It flew off pretty high and to the Southeast. Seen well, albeit briefly, with Cedrik vB., Karen P., and Joe M..
