Beobachtungsdetails

TBRC Accepted record 2006-95. Heard-only, audio recordings courtesy of Martin Hagne. Here are some of Martin's notes that he submitted to the TBRC: -- -- "While flood irrigating my front and side yard last night about 10:00pm my wife and I both heard a very different and strange call from some low dense bushes about 30 feet away. The bird was less than a foot above the ground in very dense shrubbery. I never saw it. But the call was very clear and rather loud. I was NOT familiar with the call at the time. I almost dismissed it as some weird frog. We do have the threatened Mexican Treefrog in our yard. But then it called again a few times. I believe it called, in answer to me sloshing around in the shallow water, but that is just my speculation. It did not sound like an amphibian anymore and more like a bird. I pished and it answered. I got my binos and a Mag flashlight. Pished some more and it moved around, always staying low in the same bushes. I was not seeing it move but hearing the calls move around. I could not get it to come out at all so I got a Screech-owl tape and that made it call even more, but still not come out. I then turned the tape over and recorded 5-6 calls. I replayed the recording back and it answered." "The recordings were not always made from repetitive calls. I at times turned the recorder off, then when I pished it would call and I then recorded some more." -- -- The ABA CLC did NOT accept this record.
