Immature seen floating not too far out from shore, most likely brought in by the heavy fog. The heavy black hind neck collar was very obvious while floating. The kittiwake then flew onto the beach and rested there for a few minutes before taking off towards the middle of the lake. A bold, black “m” pattern on the dorsal side of the wings was seen in flight. Not able to re-find after it flew. Poor distant photos taken through the fog when it was on the beach are included.
