Beobachtungsdetails
I wouldn't have found this bird if it was any farther out in the field. "Distant" is an understatement. My ID is based more on impression than an actual diagnostic look at a BBSA. While scoping distant Killdeer in the back part of the east field, I noticed a slightly smaller sandpiper in with them that seemed to glow peach/buff. It appeared small-headed, walked erratically, and bobbed its head enthusiastically like a dove or pigeon. Eventually I saw it next to a similarly-sized sandpiper (which turned out to be a PESA, identified when it flew closer to the road) and I studied both birds at length. From all angles, and in various lighting, the first bird appeared peach and the second bird appeared brown. I'm confident in the ID but I would have preferred a more satisfying look. Two poor photos attached which should at least show size and color relative to the nearby Killdeer.
