Beobachtungsdetails
Returning from Lewis Lake, at about dusk, this bird was perched along CR 402, roughly about 3/4 mile west of Lewis Lake; an adult bird (never saw the upper tail surface but showed solidly dark eyes). Not sure why, but my initial impression was that of an adult Swainson's (maybe the clean underparts--lack of a noticeable belly band--and what seemed to be no pale spotting/blotching in the scapulars). But eventually we were able to see enough features to determine this was a RTHA of the subspecies B.j. fuertesi. The bird showed a fairly snowy white color to the underparts (brighter white than light morph calurus or borealis), a white throat, and almost zero streaking on the flanks or in the bellyband area. Photos included (which were a bit brightened up due to the dim light at the time).
