This bird was recorded 6-27 Jan 1992, per Lockwood & Freeman, The TOS Handbook of Texas Birds, 2nd ed. (2014). Various observers' sightings are shown in eBird at various personal locations; this one is modeled on Nancy Newfield's, which seemed more accurate than many (on the correct street though without address). Immature bird, said to be imm. male and 2nd Texas record. Lockwood & Freeman state: "Separating immature-plumaged Green breasted Mango from the primarily South American Black-throated Mango (A. nigricollis) is extremely difficult. Careful in-hand examination of one at Corpus Christi, Nueces County, ...6 to 27 January 1992, confirmed that it was a Green-breasted Mango."
