Two long cuts of the same male Yellow Cardinal singing at sunrise from near top of tall dead tree in garden-like setting. He then foraged on the ground, sang again from another high perch, and eventually disappeared into the espinal. Background of 1st cut includes: Red-crested Cardinal, Spot-winged Pigeon, Saffron Finch, Monk Parakeets, Greater Rhea's two-note booming, distant S. Beardless-Tyrannulet, Rufous-collared Sparrow, and Stripe-crowned Spinetail; of 2nd cut: song of Saffron Finch in same tree; deep double hoot of Greater Rhea from ground nearby; along with more distant Rufous-browed Peppershrike, Rufous Hornero, Rufous-collared Sparrow, Spot-winged Pigeons. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME67 directional mic with an Auray shaggy windscreen.
