Beobachtungsdetails
I found this bird after sunrise in a brush pile on the new, northern addition to Wah-Kon-Tah Prairie, off Highway H--at the entrance just north of the old missile silo. This newly acquired area has yet to be managed and is presently waist-high with common ragweed--which is attracting numerous species of winter sparrows. I go there several mornings each week and this is the first time I have seen this bird. I thought it didn't look like a Brown Thrasher (neck and tail too short), but the bill didn't appear to me like the Sage Thrashers I saw when I lived in New Mexico. But Merlin, WhatBird, and friends have convinced me that this is a Sage Thrasher.
