Beobachtungsdetails
Dark morph northbound at approximately 07:50: Distant, near mid-Sound, passed on east side of yellow buoy. Overall a medium gray with a noticeably pale bill. Flight generally near water surface, with several flaps followed by a glide. Flapping was a bit slower than typical Sooty/Short-tailed flight. Body shape more robust than shearwater shape; wings broader than on Sooty/Short-tailed. Poor photo. Second fulmar was very surprising as it suddenly appeared from the north and flew through a small gull flock about 100 m west of West Point at approximately 09:10. Also very surprising was that it was a light morph. It quickly passed and continued south. It was difficult to grab focus, but the photos of this bird were a huge improvement on my previous photos of this species on Puget Sound.
