- - *High count; Careful count; 700+ (counted by 10s) on the beach, and another 750+ on the water; at one point we had over 1000 birds feeding in a frenzy across the entire beach starting a mere 10 feet from where we were standing. The flock appeared to extend around the corner out into the bay, so the numbers were potentially much greater; Amazing opportunity to photograph these birds in perfect light; Although we tried going through the birds carefully the flock kept flushing, and I am sure we missed a LIGU
