Beobachtungsdetails
Apparently mated male/female pair and third individual that stays close and is tolerated for the most part, but often chased away by what appears to be the female. Their “Birds of the World” account states this is apparently a frequent occurrence during the nesting stage. All three vocalized together for great identification opportunity. Male often goes to rest on the ledge of the large window over the Giant Eagle entrance, calling while facing the window in what seems like an attempt to amplify his voice over all of the background noise. Lots of single note, high-pitched and nasal “caw” calls with quite a bit of triple “caw-caw-caw” calls mixed in but not very many double “UH-uh” calls heard. Observed carrying sticks twice. Once they flew to the south with a stick towards the neighborhood around Henderson Road, the other time the female appeared to go east along Bethel with a stick and then return without it. Attempted to locate nest and found four good candidates but not sure if they are current or old as no birds were seen actively visiting them.
