Beobachtungsdetails
Larry Peavler located a Ross' Gull in the late afternoon of November 4, and because he did not have a camera, he called me since I lived 5 minutes away hoping I could get a picture before the sun set. I was able to locate the bird along the near shore straight out from the handicapped parking area (due west from the 71st street gatehouse) at the northwest corner of Coffer Dam. I was able to snap off a whole roll of slide film (it was 1995) and these were the best two images (Of course I had to wait a whole week for the film to be developed to find out if any of the shots turned out acceptable) . The bird then flew back and forth parallel to Eagle Creek and I tried to get a shot showing its wedged tail. Fortunately the bird hung around for over a week and many birders got to see it. The record was accepted by the IBRC the next year.
