Beobachtungsdetails
https://youtu.be/i6oo7HwjbL0 video of this behavior. I recorded this with my iPhone less than 50 yards away. I was not birding alone. We also had another birding acquaintance recount a story similar to ours in the same spot days earlier, but never put it all together. We thought this was a Common Poorwell at first, but it just didn't sound right. We also went to that area to find a Poorwell. We couldn't find any sound like the one recorded in any of our "sound" resources. I noticed a Eastern Meadowlark on a granite boulder near the road going to the dam at Lake Quanah Park. I heard its normal song, but then I noticed it made the one in the recording. When we first heard this sound it was coming from different areas at different times. When I noticed that this was coming from the Eastern Meadowlark. I followed the bird as it was flew to locations in a triangle type pattern. The pattern started from the boulder near the road, to a rock formation further out in the field, and then to a small bush out in the field. This was also confirmed by the person I was birding with at the time. We are still in disbelief about this observation.
