Migrating kettle
Beobachtungsdetails
I was keeping a close eye on the sky as I played with my kids this evening, given the recent sightings of Swainson's Hawks and a Broad-Winged Hawk in the last ten days or so. Sure enough, I spotted four high flying raptors about 4:40pm. After watching them circle a few times through binoculars I noted the long, thin, pointy wings on at least two of the birds and concluded I had at least two SWHA. I *ran* inside and grabbed my DSLR and found the birds still circling when I returned. One bird left the kettle and disappeared and the other birds continued circling a bit before heading due east towards Lord Hill. Photos appear to show all birds are SWHA, but I only have a couple poor, zoomed out photos of all four birds in the same frame.
