A pair of Chestnut-eared Aracaris hunting for nestlings. The Chestnut-eared Aracari(Pteroglossus castanotis) is a medium-sized toucan that occurs in the Amazon Basin south to northern Argentina and Paraguay. Chestnut-eared Aracaris mainly eat fruit but have also been recorded taking insects, flowers, eggs and nestling birds. This pair of Chestnut-eared Aracaris were hunting for nestlings in a large tree near the entrance to Iguaçu National Park in Brazil. Unfortunately there was a vehicle nearby playing loud music, so it is difficult to hear the calls of the birds trying to drive the Aracaris away. Elevation: 230 m. Date added to IBC: February 20, 2019.
