A trio of Scaly-headed Parrot eating grass. Scaly-headed Parrots (Pionus maximiliani) are fairly common, and occur in eastern Brazil, eastern and central Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina. Scaly-headed Parrots are found in a variety of wooded habitats. This trio of Scaly-headed Parrots was part of a flock of about 50 eating grass in the early morning on the lawn of the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas in Iguacu National Park, Brazil. Elevation: 214 m.
