This sound was from an unseen source, but it began from near the ground moments after I flushed two Mitu tuberosa into the trees from off the trail. Given the size of (what I suspect was) the prey, circumstances, and sound, and the fact that our nets had been preyed upon by an Ocelot a week earlier (which I saw predawn one morning), I conclude that this sound was probably from the cat.
