ML 187071-187074 represent a series of recordings, made between 20:44 and 21:20, of presumed Virginia Rail juveniles. All recordings were made after playback of Virginia Rail vocalizations (specific vocalization not noted). During this time period, I saw two juvenile Virginia Rails, but I never saw them vocalizing. An identification of Virginia Rail is based on this sighting plus a review of vocalizations of marsh birds that could be present at this site. ML: The various sound files from this session were grouped in such a way as to try to have only a single individual represented in a given catalog number, but since no birds were seen while they were recorded, it is possible that a single catalog number could contain recordings of more than one individual, and/or one individual could be represented in more than one catalog number.
