Chimney Swifts swirling around a roost chimney BEFORE they began to enter; recorded at 19:10 EDT. The sounds seem different than the sounds produced while they are entering the roost chimney (about five minutes later; listen to the other recordings).

Beobachtungsdetails

Started out about 500 but kept increasing until time of entry into N&O chimney (directly west of our location). Estimate, increased rapidly between 6:50 and 7:05 pm EDT. A few entered chimney early but main flow began at 19:10 through 19:20 with heaviest infow at 19:15. One estimate based on 5 birds a second for 10 minutes.
