Various individuals' raucous calls shortly after dawn at the park guard's house where they come to get handouts of rice and avocado.
Beobachtungsdetails
One raucous group was at the "visitors center" (18.1278, -71.5517) just beyond the gate that leads to the overlook at Hoyo de Pelempito. They conspicuously began calling at ~7:30, shortly after sunrise, apparently encouraging the park guard to throw out some more food. After entering the park, we then found another large group (~8) a short ways down the road to the south. Interesting crows. Although they sound like rather typical Corvus (unlike White-necked Crow), they exhibited a number of interesting behaviors, including tail flicking (continuously bobbing their tail downwards while simultaneously fanning it outwards), clinging to large vertical trunks (reminiscent of an antbird), and feeding on the flowers of blooming Agaves. Although we watched and photographed this last activity extensively, it was difficult to discern exactly what they were retrieving. Perhaps it was simply taking a drink of water or a sip of nectar? They didn't seem to be eating anything sizeable.
