Podrobnosti k pozorování
Continued from preamble on Page 1!!! We observed the following field marks: medium-sized Myiarchus flycatcher, about 20 cms long; dark olive above with a fairly bright lemon-yellow belly; strangely, there was practically no gray colour present on the breast – the yellow colour continued up towards the breast to the whitish throat; it had a large head, featuring a slightly bushy crest and grayish face; the large dark bill clearly showed a pale base to the lower mandible; there was extensive rufous throughout the wings and tail; the latter appeared to have the rufous colour extending down through the tip (ie no dark “band” as in adult Ash-throated); of course, this might have been a moot point anyway, as the buffy wing bars would indicating this is probably a juvenile bird!; we also noted (and Nick’s photographs illustrate) that the tertials were also broadly edged with white, especially the innermost feather – it was almost like a “stripe”.
