Podrobnosti k pozorování
Whilst watching a mixed flock of gulls in Safi Harbour from the stern of a cruise ship moored in the port, a juvenile Sabine's Gull suddenly appeared out of the flock, flew around briefly then passed overhead no more than 30 m away, and was lost to sight, affording excellent though brief views. I was unable to get a photograph as I was concentrating on observing it with my binoculars, and it never returned. It showed the classic contrsting tri-colour upper-wing pattern, with dull brown upper-wing coverts, black outer primaries and a striking broad roughly triangular-shaped white trailing edge. The head and underparts were white, except for a dull-brown nape. I did not register the tail pattern in the brief view I had. Copy of my notebook attached.
