Photo to come. Large owl with wide wings. Dark eye patch and light face. The bird was originally spotted and identified by Mike Anderson, Bruce Mast, et al. Some had the bird in the scope both on the ground and in meandering in flight over the field (sometimes diving, presumably for prey) and recognized that it wasn’t a harrier or any other raptor we’d seen around. Ultimately, the face with the dark eyes and “nose” settled it for us.
