Peregrine Falcon at Gull Point perched on driftwood stump on north side beach, working on a Mourning Dove carcass, w/ picked-away dove feathers blown away by the wind
Podrobnosti k pozorování
Outer Gull Point. Actively engaging in predation behavior, first chasing a bird through the trees, then, later, it was successful at catching a bird on the north-side beach. Hopped/flew to several driftwood stumps for picking at the carcass, then flew south out of sight past the observation platforms. Pictures seem to indicate the prey in question was a Mourning Dove, which is consistent with having seen 3-4 on site earlier.
